COUPLES SALSA BEGINNERS

Dive into the vibrant world of salsa with our Absolute Couples Beginners Class! This class is perfect for those who are new to salsa or want to build a solid foundation. You’ll learn the basic steps, rhythm, and fundamental techniques to get you moving confidently on the dance floor. No partner is needed, as we rotate partners throughout the class, allowing everyone to practice with different dancers. Join us for a fun and social experience, where you’ll gain the skills to dance salsa with ease.

  • First Term:  Jan 11 - Feb 8  (5 classes) $115.50
  • Second Term: Feb 15 -  March 15  (4 classes $92.40) 

Important: There is NO regular class on March 8 due to the Bachata Weekender & guest teachers in town. This means the 4th class of the term will take place on March 15.


 

COUPLES SALSA PROGRESSIVE RUEDA

Sundays 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Ready to take your salsa to the next level? This class is designed for dancers who have completed Salsa Beginners/Level 1 or who already feel comfortable with their salsa basic steps, rhythm, and partner work fundamentals.

In this progressive series, you’ll build on your foundation with new footwork, turn patterns, technique, and musicality. Classes move at a steady pace, adding new concepts each week so you can grow your confidence and style on the dance floor.

No partner is needed — Join us for a fun, dynamic, and supportive environment where your salsa truly starts to come alive!

  • First Term:  Jan 11 - Feb 8  (5 classes) $115.50

First Term Focus: Rueda de Casino (progressive series).
We’ll dive into circular Cuban-style salsa as a group, building patterns, timing, and connection week by week.

  • Second Term: Feb 15 to March 15  (4 classes $92.40) 

Second Term Focus: Salsa en Línea (On1).
This term shifts into slot work, travelling patterns, technique, and styling to expand your versatility.

Important: There is NO regular class on March 8 due to the Bachata Weekender & guest teachers in town. This means the 4th class of the term will take place on March 15.

COUPLES PERFORMANCE TEAM

Mondays 7:15 - 8:30 pm

Our Couples Performance Team is all about bringing the joy and energy of salsa and bachata to Nelson. We perform at local events throughout the year, showcasing the beauty and connection of partner dancing. To be part of this team, dedication is key—you’ll also need to participate in other classes to refine your skills.

BACHATA FOOTWORK - Open Level

Step into the rhythm and let your feet do the talking in our Salsa Shines class! This open-level class is designed for dancers of all backgrounds, from beginners to seasoned dancers. We’ll focus on footwork, styling,history and body movement that will enhance your solo dancing and add flair to your salsa routines.

Each class begins with a warm-up, followed by fun and dynamic shine combinations that you can use on the dance floor. If needed, we’ll provide slight variations so you can work at your own level, ensuring everyone gets the most out of the class. Whether you’re looking to improve your technique, boost your confidence, or simply have a great time dancing, this class offers something for everyone. No partner needed—just bring your energy and passion for salsa!

SENSUAL HEELS

Wednesdays 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Sensual Heels is a confidence-boosting dance class designed to help you connect with your feminine energy through slow, fluid movement and empowering choreography — all done in heels.

We’ll focus on body control, musicality, and expression while exploring sensuality in a supportive and safe space. Dance heels are not required, but if you choose to wear them, please ensure they are proper dance heels — meaning:flexible suede or leather dance soles, ankle support, and stability designed for movement, very different from regular fashion/street heels. This is not only for your safety but also to help us take care of our beautiful old dance floor, which we’re so grateful to be able to move on.

No experience necessary — just bring your heels (or socks!), an open mind, and get ready to move, feel, and own your power.

Based in Nelson, we perform at various local events, bringing energy and passion to every stage we step on. Each year, we also have the honor of representing our community at the Seattle Latin Dance Festival, where we share our love for dance on an international platform. Whether you're an experienced dancer or looking to challenge yourself, our team offers a supportive environment to grow, perform, and shine!

In this class, you'll learn the basic steps, rhythm, and partner work that make Bachata such a fun and captivating dance. We'll guide you through essential techniques, helping you build confidence on the dance floor while enjoying the rich, romantic rhythms of Bachata music. No prior dance experience is necessary, and no partner is required—just come ready to move, have fun, and fall in love with Bachata!

What is Bachata?
Bachata is a popular Latin dance that originated in the Dominican Republic. Known for its smooth and romantic movements, Bachata is danced to a four-beat rhythm with simple steps that are easy to learn. It’s a social dance that emphasizes connection with your partner and enjoying the music. Perfect for beginners, Bachata is a great way to get moving, meet new people, and experience the joy of dancing!
